Comments: Plus only 5 minutes of HIIT biking; I was wiped the fuck out. I’m happy to have actually squatted that 275 – it certainly didn’t feel like I was going to upon unracking. 315 may not be that far away!

Comments: Plus 10 minutes HIIT biking. Next week, my work schedule will be more reasonable and I should be able to get more sleep, so my lifts should get better. Also, the post-workout shake raised my blood sugar more than is acceptable, so it’s straight whey (well, with water – I don’t think I could handle eating it yet) after lifting until I can restore my insulin sensitivity/for the foreseeable future.

Comments: Still easing back into it. Goddamn it. Down to (back up to from the doctor’s office? My weight’s fluctuated so much this past week that I don’t know) 240 lbs. (109 kg) according to the gym’s scale. Also, I had my post-workout shake tonight and am going to see how/if that affects my blood sugar tomorrow. Depending on the result, I may have to go with straight protein for a while.
178 this morning. Well, afternoon – my morning.
Happy solstice to all you heathens.
Speaking of pagan stuff, just found out yesterday that KORPIKLAANI WILL BE PLAYING PAGANFEST USA NEXT YEAR!!!
I fully intend on yoiking the fuck out and he-bitch manraping Jonne. Not in a gay way, though. Manly. Like a Viking.

Also, totally unrelated to the beard, blood sugar was 192 this morning. Still damn high, BUT still coming down. Still encouraging.
Just checked my blood sugar again, and it was 225. I realise that it can vary greatly during the course of a day and that that’s still pretty damn high, but it’s SIGNIFICANTLY less than it was the other day, and that’s… encouraging. Only a couple more days left on the antibiotic, then it’s time for some acidopholus and yogurt. THEN some SCIENCE!.
I actually have lifted a few times since acquiring the infection, but didn’t do anything heavy enough or with enough volume to note thanks to the pills making me dizzy/faint as fuck (that coupled with not eating for a while when I started back to work made me think I was going to collapse onto a customer a few times). I’ll start documenting that again next week.
Alright, so the blood sugar was consistently high for three readings (though it has gone down a good bit since Thursday). This whole ordeal is making me feel very… mortal. I don’t care for it.
I’ve been reading some interesting articles (not the Wikipedia one, it’s fucking depressing) about how, instead of obesity causing diabetes, both are simply caused by poor diet – mostly the consumption of trans fats/partially hydrogenated blah blah blah – and how it may be possible to “cure” it through diet alone (and not that 1600-calorie-per-day horseshit, either). Since I really hate the idea of taking drugs to treat this (though I have no problem popping pills for recreation or performance enhancement, odd…), this may bear looking into.
I think it’s time to conduct some SCIENCE!
After I’m finished with the antibiotic.
A little late because, again, blogging wasn’t high on list of things to do last week.
